What a millwork & casework package looks like.
Millwork is where identical square footage produces wildly different numbers. Two kitchens of the same size can differ by a factor of three once the specification is read, so casework is measured by run and unit, then priced against the finish schedule rather than an average rate.
Countertops are measured by area with edge treatment and cut-outs counted. Trim, base, casing and crown are measured by linear foot by profile. Where a specification is incomplete, an allowance is stated openly rather than buried in a rate.
