What a process piping package looks like.
A 6" stainless line and a 6" carbon steel line are entirely different money in material, welding and testing. Process piping is therefore measured against the line list and P&IDs by specification and service, with each line carrying its own material, schedule and insulation requirement.
Valves, fittings, flanges, supports and specialty items are counted individually rather than allowed for as a percentage. Weld counts are reported by diameter-inch where the scope warrants it, and the productivity loss of working inside a live or partially operating plant is stated explicitly rather than assumed away.
