Site utilities estimating services

Storm, sanitary, water and dry utilities measured by diameter and material, with structures counted and trench work priced separately.

How we measure it

What a site utilities package looks like.

Utility runs are measured pipe by pipe with diameter, material and depth, because trench depth drives excavation, shoring and bedding far more than pipe cost does. A 200-foot run at four feet and the same run at twelve feet are entirely different money.

Structures are counted individually: manholes, catch basins, inlets, cleanouts, hydrants and valves each carry their own line with depth stated. Connections to existing mains are itemised because they usually carry permits, traffic control and utility company coordination.

Who it is for

Underground utility contractors, site contractors, heavy civil general contractors and municipal contractors.

What you receive

Every site utilities package ships the same four things.

Whatever the trade, the deliverable is consistent, so a package from us always drops into how you already work.

Excel workbook

Line-item detail with quantities, wastage, labour hours and material priced on separate columns.

Colour-marked sheets

Every measured item marked on the drawing with a count legend, so any figure can be checked against the plan.

Assumptions & exclusions

Written down, including anything the drawings did not answer, rather than absorbed into a rate.

Site utilities questions

Common questions on site utilities takeoffs.

Yes, measured per run using the invert depths from the profile drawings, with bedding, backfill and compaction as separate lines. Trench work usually outweighs pipe cost on deep runs.

Yes. Manholes, catch basins, inlets and valves are counted individually with their depths, because a shallow inlet and a deep manhole are very different installations.
